 Deogratius Kithama is son to long time Tanzanian Journalist and media personality Joseph kithama and the Late Lucy Mpangala, business woman. Born on October 12 0n 1988 and raised In Dar es salaam, “ Deo” like many would call him. graduated at Loyola High school in the year 2009, and is now in his last year pursuing a degree in Mass communication, majoring in Television and Public Relations at the Tumaini University. And also the face of EAST AFRICA TELEVISION ‘s glamour show Nirvana.

  ” I grew up something extra, you can say! always the loud one! the talkative one! the cheerful one! and yes am embarrased to say sometimes the Flamboyant one! hahaaa
  However, it was only until High school when Deogratius Kithama, decided to embrace his talent and channel into what has led him to become what he is. ” i didnt seem like i was gonna end up a Five inch especially since most if not all of my brothers are mighty tall, so i primarily wanted to become a model, i did some shows in High school for Ailinda sawe of Africa Sana designs , and posed for a few Magazine pictorials including one with Bongo Star Search Finalist 2009 Rogers Lucas.”


In August 2009, “Deo joined East Africa Television with the intention of pursuing his dream of becoming a Television presenter. In the next two months, the pre production and later production for the show started.
  On 26 January 2010, Deogratius Kithama debuted his carrier as the Host of Nirvana, first male to host the Glam show , which is lifestyle magazine programme broadcast on Tuesdays at 7pm, covering the “creme de la creme” of East Africa's Fashion, Beauty, Art .

On November 12 2009, Deogratius Kithama, was the only Tanzanian Television presenter who interviewed UK born supermodel Naomi Campbell at the Movenpick Hotel Dar es salaam for his show Nirvana. In the next year on October 14 , he had an exclusive interview with Omar Lye fook , a classical neo soul artiste also from the UK , the show that aired on Nirvana on October 19 same year.
  Other personalities that have been interviewed by Deogratius Kithama, includes NEXT model and former Miss Universe world top 15 finalist Flaviana matata, who has now done works with different house hold names such as Vivienne Westwood , Sherri Hill and Top shop, also Tanzanian born South African supermodel Millen Magesse, Fashion designer and founder of Swahili Fashion week Mustapha Hassannali, Mozambican fashion designer Taibo Bacar and South African fashion show producer Jan Malan.

 “I love Televesion because it gives me that higher sense of being, i get to become that Divo that i claim to be, its an amazing expirience indeed! best part is i still get to be the simple me after the show time” says Deo.
