Tanzania: Sony has unveiled four new products and technologies in the Tanzanian market, as part of its on-going strategy to cement its position as the leading global consumer electronics and entertainment brand.
The new products and technologies include the Sony Handycam HDR-PJ380 camcorder, the Cyber-Shot HX300 digital still camera, the new Home Cinema System- BDV-N9900SH and the Sony Bravia Full HD 3D LED TV W8 Series.
Speaking during the launch, Chief Representative, Sony Middle East and Africa, Rajeev Pallippamadam said that the launch of the four new innovative products in Tanzania reaffirms Sony’s commitment to consistently delivering superior products offering to our consumers in this market.
“As a company, we have identified Tanzania as one of our top priority markets for future growth prospects. Today, we would like to prove our commitment in this market by bringing world class Sony experience right at the consumer’s doorsteps. Recently, the electronics manufacturer unveiled its strategy for the African market, where it plans to double its market share to 1.4 billion USD by 2015 through an aggressive expansion campaign driven by new product launches, introduction of experiential Sony brand stores, and setting up authorized service centres in almost every country in Africa including Tanzania.
Handycam PJ380
The Sony Handycam PJ380 camcorder delivers Full HD video with enhanced projection capabilities. The external device HDMI input allows big screen projection, up to 100-inches (diagonal) of content (movies, slideshows, web pages, games) from compatible smartphones, Tablet devices or PCs on to any flat wall or surface.
Taking the ultimate theatre experience to the next level, the Sony Handycam HDR-PJ380 camcorder’s built-in projector uses a powerful 13 lumen lens. The compact, LED-based projector built into the flip-out LCD panel of the camcorder can project video and images onto any flat surface with upgraded resolution for a clearer and sharper picture.
Featuring an advanced 26.8mm wide angle Sony G lens capable of 30x Optical Zoom and a further 55x Extended Zoom, the PJ380 ensures no spontaneous moment is ever missed.

 Cyber-shot HX300
On the other hand, the Sony Cyber-shot HX300 digital still camera is a power-packed device that offers DSLR-like capabilities allowing ease of travel without the need to pack in extra lenses.
With a huge 50x optical zoom range – among the highest for any compact camera – the lens covers a wide scale of shooting possibilities, from holidays and safari trips to sports, wildlife shoots and outdoor concerts. The lengthiest shooting sessions are made pleasant and manageable by the camera’s balanced DSLR-style body and moulded comfortable grip that fits comfortably into the hand. Add to that a full range of intuitively-placed controls including manual ring, custom button, jog dial and memory recall mode, and you have a camera that’s as good as a DSLR.
The HX300 also features the versatile new ‘Multi Terminal’ interface that allows intelligent communication between the camera and a growing range of shooting accessories.
BDV-N9900SH Home Cinema System
Adding to its range of home entertainment products Sony has launched a new Home Cinema System, the BDV-N9900SH, which features the revolutionary ‘Football Mode.’ With this new feature Sony is set to provide home owners with an authentic cinema and sports experience in the comfort of their own homes, by bringing an entertainment system that uses acoustic data captured at an international stadium to immerse customers in the action. Football Mode allows one to mute the commentator at the touch of a button, and also enhances enjoyment of other sports like rugby, tennis or motorsport.

Sony BRAVIA Full HD 3D LED TV W8 Series
The W8 series offers consumers Sony’s unique combination of technology and content services, delivering life-like picture quality and deeply engaging audio. The series is created for viewers looking for an amazing high definition entertainment experience. The picture engine processor also scales up any standard definition or low quality internet content, employing Motionflow XR™ for the best experience when viewing fast action scenes and gaming.
In addition to that the W-series combines a unique long duct speaker cabinet design. The long 1.2m speaker duct is cleverly folded into a compact unit that’s hidden neatly behind the TV screen which reproduces rich bass and lower midrange sounds, adding extra punch and depth to action movies, music and dialogue and producing the same bass extension as a much bigger speaker. All W-Series TV models include screen mirroring via Wi-Fi, with some models (W9, W8 and W7 Series) shipping with an NFC remote for a complete One-touch experience.
